Symphony at Sunset: A Summer Well-Lived

Hard to believe outdoor season is almost a memory… it’s been a magical summer for sharing music in all sorts of spaces! But for a second year in a row, the *absolute* highlight of the summer has been our ten-week partnership with Downtown Cleveland for the Symphony at Sunset series, which took place each Sunday night from June 23 through the end of August. This year, we perched on the hillside of the east bank of the Detroit-Superior bridge each Sunday night (with a couple of guest appearances in the gorgeous Worthington Yards courtyard). By some miracle, no performance was cancelled due to rain (although we had a couple of hairy moments and two delays). But y’all, thank you for showing up. 👏

As an ensemble, this series was an excuse to flex our creative brains with new, adventurous music led by various members of the ensemble each week, from harp, to opera and piano, to string quartet, and even trio with bass! We loved seeing clients, wedding couples, old friends, and having the chance to meet so many residents of the downtown neighborhoods!

To Downtown Cleveland: thank you for taking a chance on this for a second year in a row. We’ve already got tons of ideas for next summer and can’t wait to bring something beautiful to that gem of a hillside once more. Felicia, Kelly, and Ian – THANK YOU. Beth and the team at Vertical Sound knocked it out of the park each week helping us sound gorgeous with those mics!

Now, just a few weeks left for outdoor season in Cleveland… go soak it up while you can!
